Iowa State Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2018
Coming off of another big win against TCU, Iowa State goes back on the road to a place that has haunted them in recent years, T. Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Last year, Oklahoma State won 49-42 in a controversial finish.
The Cowboys are coming off another remarkable season under Mike Gundy, finishing 10-3 and a win in the Camping World Bowl over Virginia Tech. Oklahoma State does have some star power to replace this off-season as Mason Rudolph and Biletnikoff Award winner James Washington have graduated. Taylor Cornelius looks to take the reigns of the Cowboys offense along with junior running back Justice Hill, who has run for 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons.
Last year’s matchup had no shortage of drama as the game turned into one of those fabled Big 12 shootouts. Whether or not Iowa State was hosed on the call at the end of the game will be debated for a while, however the Cyclones will not allow the game to come to that in the 2018 matchup. Iowa State picks up their first win in Stillwater since 2000.
