Iowa Football: 5 underrated signees in 2018 recruiting class
40-yard dash: 4.7

Squat: 400 pounds
Every so often, Iowa finds a kid that nobody at the FBS level wanted and molds them into a superstar. Examples include All-Americans like Josey Jewell, Dallas Clark, Chad Greenway and a whole host of others. The hidden gem in this class could be 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker Logan Klemp.
Klemp hails from Jewell, Iowa (of all places) and was a star running back and linebacker for South Hamilton High School. Klemp finished his senior season with 82.5 tackles on defense and 1,260 yards rushing on offense, leading South Hamilton to a berth Iowa’s Class 1A State Playoffs where they fell to Denver (IA). He joins a long line of small school in-state prospects that Iowa has found over the last few years.
Recruited as a linebacker, Klemp is not the most skilled linebacker on tape, but where he separates himself from others is his attention to detail and his fundamentals. He is very good at scraping down the line of scrimmage and mirroring the ball-carrier. Klemp is also very sound at filling the gaps in the running game and is a very sure tackler. Football IQ is a very important intangible at any level of football, and it’s one that could make Klemp a very solid player in the future for the Hawkeyes.
