1. Isaiah Simmons – Safety

Isaiah Simmons, a safety for the Clemson Tigers, is nothing short of an emerging star. Recruited out of Kansas, standing at 6-foot-3, the freshman didn’t get much playing time. He is however a big impact for Clemson football, finishing the 2017-18 season 10th on team with tackles.

Simmons had 45 tackles and six broken passes last season. He can be very valuable for the Tigers in the backend of defense. He has the size and speed to be firepower on the field.

For 2018, Simmons will have to improve his work on his hand skills. Interceptions aren’t the only measure of safety’s abilities, but he’s going to have to square up some footballs to garner the respect he’s looking for. What he lacks in hands, his speed will make up for. With his huge size, when a guy like Simmons is coming for you on the field, it’s best to get out his way.

Players like Van Smith and Ryan Carter are moving on to the NFL. This is good news for Simmons because he is sure to see more time on the field with the Clemson Tigers for 2018.
