A good portion of the players on this list have a good amount of experience at the college level. That is something that incoming freshman four-star inside linebacker Bumper Pool does not have. Even though he’s the top rated recruit in the 2018 Arkansas class, he’s got a lot to learn.

Picking up on an SEC defense tends not to happen too quickly, and we’ll see how fast Pool adjusts. Since Arkansas had the lowest rated recruiting class in the SEC for the 2018 cycle, they need to make the most of what they do have.

Among 17 incoming players for the Hogs in 2018, three of them enrolled early. Pool is not only the most highly-touted recruit in this class, he’s also the only four-star to enroll early. The only other four-star prospect in the class, pro-style quarterback Connor Noland, will not be in Fayetteville until the Fall.

Pool is going to be an interesting player to watch during the Spring Game. Morris would be wise to give him some playing time and a larger than expected role before the start of the 2018 campaign. The Arkansas defense needs some help rebuilding, and Pool seems like just the guy for the job.
