This one will likely be the starter for the Razorbacks in 2018 and as a result he will be important for Chad Morris and company. However, he has quite the off the field distraction that could change that. Earlier this month, the Arkansas quarterback pleaded guilty to a DWI from November in Fayetteville District Court and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 89 days suspended and credit given for one day served.

That will be important in the long run when Morris starts choosing his starter for the 2018 season. Kelley is the most experienced on the quarterback roster. The question that stands right now is how much that DWI will factor into Morris’ decision on who will lead this team.

In the 2017 season, due to an injury to starting quarterback Austin Allen, Kelley finished with 1,038 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions last season as a freshman. He showed poise and talent despite his large size and will look to continue that in 2018. LSU defensive end Frank Herron had quite a bit to say about Kelley before their match up against the Razorbacks. Watching Kelley on film was shocking to say the least for the Tigers.

“I was just watching him in there and it was amazing,” Herron said in an interview with SEC Country. “It’s like, they were running draws with a 6-foot-7 quarterback. Like, you’re not going to see this. You know what I’m saying? Jalen Hurts, he’s not that tall. But this dude’s 6-foot-7. You don’t see that. And he’s like 270? We were watching it in there on the film. That stuff’s crazy.”
