The trend of LSU wide receivers excelling after they leave the Tiger offense seems to be continuing. Former Tiger receiver D.J. Chark followed up a strong Senior Bowl performance with the fasted 40-yard dash time by anyone at the combine this far. It wasn’t quite John Ross fast, but it will be fast enough to bump his draft stock a little bit higher.

The level of adversity that UCF’s Shaquem Griffin has faced during his football career is unparalleled. Griffin has gained fame as a one-armed linebacker, defying all odds and playing D1 football. His 20 reps on the bench on Saturday aren’t going to send him to the top of the big board, but he did prove his handicap won’t keep him down.

Everything that could go right did go right for Penn State tight end Mike Gesicki. After slipping down draft boards following the 2017 season, Gesicki dominated all of his combine events. He finished in the top two at his position in the 40-yard dash, bench press, broad jump, three cone, 20-yard shuttle and the 60-yard shuttle. That’s every drill the tight ends tested in.
