Winners

UCF’s Shaquem Griffin was a winner on Day 2 thanks to an impressive one-handed bench press performance. He followed that up with a blazing 40-yard dash on Day 3, the fastest time of any linebacker since 2003. After shining again during the on-field drills, Griffin leaves the 2018 NFL Combine with a significant bump in his draft stock. He went from a late-sixth or early-seventh round prospect to a potential top 100 selection.

Everything that North Carolina State defense end Bradley Chubb did on Sunday went right. He posted a 4.65 second 40-yard dash, jumped 36 inches in the vertical jump and 10-foot-1-inch in the broad jump. He’s been a consensus top-5 pick for some time, but Chubb strengthened his case to be the No. 1 pick come April.

Alabama’s Da’Ron Payne got caught up in parade of defensive front seven prospects that continue to be churned out from Tuscaloosa. Playing alongside so many elite players kept Payne off the radar to some degree, but his quickness and tenacity on the field put him squarely in the first round conversation. Yes, he’s another big man produced by Nick Saban’s machine, but players of that size should not move as fast as he does.
