Scouting Report. Oklahoma. Baker Mayfield. Pick Analysis. Quarterback. 11. player. 59

Needs: CB, OG, RB

Adam Gase may finally be prepared to move the Miami Dolphins on from Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill missed the entire 2017 season recovering from a torn ACL in his knee and will have to convince the Dolphins between now and late April that they shouldn’t be ready to move on after six seasons of mediocre quarterback play.

Miami’s young offensive minded coach might be looking for his own franchise quarterback and the tenacious Baker Mayfield should be the selection. Mayfield might not be NFL-ready today, but Miami does have Matt Moore on the roster.

Miami is a franchise in flux and has been for the better part of a decade. The Dolphins’ defense is aging while their young offense is moving on as Jay Ajayi was traded and Jarvis Landry has been traded as well. The Dolphins have had good but not great first round luck as Lamar Miller and Olivier Vernon have had good careers while Dion Jordan was a complete bust. If Miami is looking to truly rebuild a locker room leader like Mayfield is the way to go in South Florida.
