Sam Hubbard. 31. 47. Scouting Report. Defensie End. player. Pick Analysis. Ohio State

Needs: CB, QB, OT

The Patriots have a lot of needs for a team that narrowly lost the Super Bowl only a year after winning the Super Bowl. New England needs to start preparing for life after Tom Brady, they must improve their offensive line in order to protect Brady, and they need to not only improve their pass rush but add talent to the defensive backfield as well.

New England is going to take a Patriot type of player and Sam Hubbard fits their mold on the defensive line. He logged 30 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks over his three-year career at THE Ohio State University.

Hubbard didn’t run the 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine but he did measure in at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds. Hubbard scored a 35 inches in the vertical jump, 116 inches in the broad jump and a 4.32 second 20-yard shuttle.

Although Hubbard said he didn’t feel ready to run the 40 or bench press at the combine, he is expected to do both drills at his pro day. Hubbard will make up for not landing Michael Bennett in a trade with the Seahawks.
