Vic Janowicz was the first true superstar for coach Woody Hayes when Hayes was hired in 1951 replacing outgoing coach Wes Fesler. In his four years in Columbus, Janowicz accumulated 1,487 yards of total offense and scored 103 career points as he also kicked along with being an offensive superstar.

Janowicz received the Heisman Trophy in his junior year in 1950, rushing for 314 yards, passing for 561 yards and adding an interception on defense as well. He rode these numbers all the way to the 1950 Heisman Trophy and was a Consensus All-American as well. After Ohio State, Janowicz had a brief career in football and baseball.
