Not many linebackers embody toughness, power and grit like former Ohio State linebacker Chris Spielman. Spielman was one of the best defensive players in Ohio State history and was the anchor of coach Earl Bruce’s defense throughout the mid-80’s. He finished his Buckeye career with 36 games played and 11 interceptions.

Throughout his career in the scarlet and gray, Spielman reaped in many awards and accolades, being one of the best linebackers in college football. He was a two-time consensus First Team All-American, a winner of the Chic Harley and Lombardi Awards in his senior season, and left Ohio State as the school’s all-time leading tackler. Spielman was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 1988 NFL Draft.
