Unlike Johnson, rising sophomore cornerback Myles Jones actually got quite a bit of game action during his freshman campaign. Jones had his best game of the season in the Belk Bowl against Wake Forest, posting nine total tackles.

Overall, Jones posted 26 total tackles and one interception in his freshman season. His potential this season puts him in the realm of possibly becoming one of Texas A&M’s best defensive backs. He’s got the experience from his freshman year to have a huge sophomore campaign.

Moreover, with the return of senior safety Donovan Wilson, the Aggies secondary could have one of its best groups of talent in recent memory. However, Jones does need to be at his best during the spring to get a gauge on how good they will actually be.

They’ll get to practice against a deep set of quarterbacks and running backs in the coming months. Jones will be counted on to be one of the better cover corners on the roster, and hopefully in the entirety of the SEC. He does have the physical tools to compete with the rest of the SEC, as he already showed last year.
