5. How healthy is this team?

Wisconsin was one of the more banged up teams in the country in 2017 as they began the season with two starting linebackers — Jack Cichy and Zack Baun — ruled out for the entire year.

Throughout the year, the team lost their top secondary player in D’Cota Dixon for extended time and their top wide receiver for half the year in Quintez Cephus. Among those injuries were other banged up personnel on both the offense and defense.

The goal for 2018 should be to start the season as healthy as possible and the spring game will pose as a good determinant of who is ready to go and who still needs more time to get to 100 percent. Big-time players such as Dixon and Cephus will need to be looked at extra carefully, but at the same time must not start the year rusty as they are both expected to take on leadership roles in their respective units.

Defense was primarily the target for injuries last season and after losing keep pieces to graduation and the NFL draft, it is critical they remain healthy in 2018.
