2018 NFL Mock Draft: Complete first round after pro days, trades
Needs: DE, QB, OL, RB
The New York Giants won all four of their Super Bowls with a ferocious pass rush and have since seen the retirement of Michael Strahan and have traded Jason Piere-Paul. Without JPP, the Giants will need to draft a pass rusher here at the 12th overall pick. Luckily Marcus Davenport from Texas San Antonio is available.
Davenport exploded on the scene as a senior and the 6-foot-6 and 264 pound pass rusher will be another in the long line of Giants’ greats. New York knows the timetable for Eli Manning to win another Super Bowl is closing and Pat Shurmur will want to surround him with talent on both sides of the football.
Davenport is the best player available at the twelth slot and he is a need for the Giants. New York also needs to draft a quarterback of the future, an offensive tackle to protect Eli Manning, and a running back to give the Giants a run game that can take pressure off the aging Manning and balance out their offense.
