2018 NFL Mock Draft: Complete first round after pro days, trades
Needs: WR, DT, LB
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a 9-7 2017 season after a 13-3 2016 season. Rumors swirled about Jerry Jones firing Jason Garrett but the former Cowboys backup quarterback turned head football coach is still in charge in Big D.
Dallas needs a strong playoff run after their divisional rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, just won the Super Bowl. The Cowboys have the NFC’s best offensive line that includes three Pro Bowl players and young talents at quarterback in Dak Prescott and running back in Ezekiel Elliott. The Cowboys need to add a young wide receiver to that mix for Prescott to improve the passing game.
That receiver will be Courtland Sutton from SMU. The former Mustang is a big target at 6-foot-3 and 218 pounds and still has NFL quality speed after being clocked at 4.54 in the 40 yard dash. Sutton flashed quickness with a 4.11 in the 20 shuttle and explosiveness with a 124 inch broad jump. That makes him a tough opponent for any cornerback in the NFL as he has size, power, and quickness to beat them off the ball either with his hands or feet.
