Ohio State. player. 47. Defensie End. Pick Analysis. Sam Hubbard. 31. Scouting Report

Needs: CB, QB, OT

Any time New England has two first round draft picks you have to get excited about what the greatest dynasty in NFL history is about to do next. I have the Patriots drafting a cornerback with their 23rd overall pick they acquired from the Rams for Brandin Cooks. At the 31st overall spot New England is going to add a pass rusher even though it’s not an immediate need, it is something they showed a weakness in against Nick Foles in the Super Bowl.

New England will love former Ohio State Buckeye defensive end Sam Hubbard. Coming off of an injury Hubbard didn’t run the 40 at the combine, but he did jump an impressive 36 inches in the vertical for a guy that’s 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds.

Hubbard added a 4.32 in the 20 shuttle and 116 inch broad jump to show he has quickness, and explosiveness. Hubbard didn’t have elite production at Ohio State but still logged 30 tackles for loss and 17 sacks over his three seasons in Columbus.
