2018 NFL Draft: Ranking the Top 10 running backs
By Dana Becker
Everything might not have been great out in west at Arizona State under Todd Graham, but the head coach did get the most out of Kalen Ballage – and likely helped him land a spot in the NFL.
Ballage, at 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, didn’t look the part of a running back. He had under 200 yards from scrimmage his freshman season, but quickly found a role with the Sun Devils.
As a junior, Ballage had 1,005 yards on 170 plays, averaging almost six yards per touch and scoring 15 touchdowns. Those numbers dipped a bit this year, but he did enough to showcase his talents.
Ballage closed out his four-year career with 1,984 yards rushing and 27 touchdowns to go along with 82 receptions and 684 yards.
