2018 NFL Draft: Ranking the Top 10 running backs
By Dana Becker
The second piece to the Georgia rushing attack, Sony Michel had the opposite run of Nick Chubb. Instead of breaking onto the scene, Michel dominated his last year in Athens.
While Chubb again ran for over 1,000 yards, it was Michel that made the biggest plays in the ground game, recording 1,227 yards and scoring 16 touchdowns, all while averaging just under eight yards per carry.
Michel, who is a bit smaller at 215 pounds, closed out his career with 3,613 yards and 33 touchdowns, including a pair of 1,000-yard campaigns. He laso had 64 career receptions covering 621 yards and six more scores.
A big factor moving forward with Michel and some of the other top backs is his lack of carries in college. His body might not have the same wear and tear after 590 carries covering four years.
