Most of the tradition that the Texas A&M football program is so proud of now can be traced back to just this one head coach that will always be remembered by fans, players, and other coaches alike. The legendary Dana X. Bible’s legacy starts with the foundation of the 12th man tradition.

It’s not just the Aggies biggest claim to fame when it comes to traditions that causes Bible to finish at the top spot on this list. Even if they might not be 100 percent official in the current record books, Bible did still help the Aggies to two separate National Championships, the first two in the program’s history.

That alone could put him among the program’s elite, in terms of both players and coaches. Bible has one of the best win percentages in program history, and also won a whopping five conference championships. His legendary college football resume mainly stems from Texas A&M, but he also held major roles with the Horns, LSU Tigers, and Nebraska Cornhuskers. He a well-known name all around the college football world.

The most dominant season in Texas A&M football history came in 1919, when the Aggies were undefeated champions outscoring their opposition by a total margin of 275-0. It took a retroactive naming of their National Champions status to recognize that dominance officially. Bible helped the Aggies to a record with one loss or better on six occasions. His total dominance while coaching this program is hard to match by many other legendary head coaches from other big time teams.
