Penn State’s all time leader in receptions DaeSean Hamilton is off to the NFL. However there is plenty left in the cupboard at wide receiver for the Lions. It is now time for Juwan Johnson to make a huge impact.

Some of you may remember Johnson’s last second game winning catch to silence the crowd at Iowa last season.

After the game winning catch, many Nittany Lions fans thought Johnson was poised for a breakout, but it never materialized. While he did finish the season with 700 yards of receiving, his only score was the aforementioned touchdown in Iowa City. He did break the 100-yard mark in the game against Nebraska.

Johnson has not been practicing much this spring and it remains to be seen if he will play in the Blue-White game. Regardless, he should be roaring to go later this year and will be quarterback Trace McSorley’s number one option this fall. He is poised for a huge breakout, where we should expect him to topple the 1,000-yard mark. The Lions are also hoping he finds his way to the the end zone a lot more than once this upcoming season.
