7. Peter Warrick
A prep star from high school football powerhouse Bradenton Southeast in Florida, Peter Warrick was a three-sport star in basketball, football and track. In Warrick’s prep career he won Florida Basketball Player of the Year, led the football program to consecutive state championships, and won the state title in the long jump his senior year. He came to Tallahassee as a prized recruit of the 1995 recruiting class being ranked the No. 1 overall wide receiver in the country.
After redshirting in 1995 Warrick went on to be a major playmaker for the ‘Noles for four seasons. Warrick totaled over 3,500 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns from scrimmage with another two touchdowns in the punt return game. In the 2000 Sugar Bowl, Warrick was named the MVP as Florida State won their second national championships. He brought in 160 receiving yards and scored three touchdowns including a 59-yard punt return.
Warrick’s NFL career wasn’t spectacular after being the fourth overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. He played five seasons for the Bengals who drafted him and a season with the Seahawks before heading to the CFL. Warrick totaled 2,991 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns over six seasons in the NFL.
