Conclusion

With all the made Arkansas disappointing in 2017, the idea of making a run at maintaining a more competitive level in 2018 can become reality by continuing the momentum they built up in spring. The experience is there on both sides of the ball to do what needs to be done to get back to bowl eligibility.

Even the receiving corps brings back a ton or production to make life easier on whoever starts under center between Kelley, Storey, Noland, etc. The defense has a lot returning on the defensive line and linebacking corps too. Morris is a solid head coach that made the proper moves to shake things up.

If all goes the right way for the Hogs in 2018, reaching that six-win mark should be pretty easy. While the SEC West could be the toughest division in the nation this year, there’s some programs that Arkansas could be favored against (i.e. the Ole Miss Rebels and Mississippi State Bulldogs).

Take care of business during the non-conference slate and that could build momentum to carry them through a few big conference victories. Arkansas has the chance to start off with three straight wins by taking on the North Texas Mean Green, Colorado State Rams, and Eastern Illinois Panthers out of conference. Win three or four more in SEC play, and the 2018 campaign is a rousing success. Upset a few teams like the Hogs have the capability of doing, and reaching the eight or nine win mark is an attainable goal.

Realistic record prediction for 2018: 8-5 (4-4 SEC)
