Virginia Tech. Tremaine Edmunds. 53. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Linebacker. 12

The Browns had five of the top 64 picks before the 2018 NFL Draft started. Their projected trade down (in this case with the Bills) will net them an additional pick this year and a first rounder next year. That’s a lot of picks and the Browns will find a way to turn them into several productive players.

After getting a quarterback at No. 1 the Browns will turn back to the defensive side of the ball, selecting linebacker Tremaine Edmunds out of Virginia Tech.

The son of a two-time Pro Bowler, Ferrell Edmunds, Tremaine looks to be well on his way to following in his father’s footsteps. Rangy, quick and explosive, Edmunds has the frame and power that NFL scouts drool over. Men his size don’t often move with such grace and agility.

Edmunds was able to rely on his athleticism at Virginia Tech. Nevertheless, he still managed to rack up 202 tackles (30.5 for a loss) and 10.0 sacks in his final two seasons in Blacksburg. If given the right direction, Edmunds could be a special player.
