NFL Mock Draft 2018: Complete 7-Round projections
The Los Angeles Chargers have one dominant player on their offensive line, Russell Okung. Thatβs it. Forrest Lamp, the Chargersβ second round pick last season, missed his rookie campaign with a torn ACL. Heβll be back in the fold, as will newly signed free agent center Mike Pouncey.Β Thatβs a good start, but the depth is still lacking.
Midway through the first rounds the Chargers will have options. A tackle would make sense, but with so much uncertainty up front they might elect to choose a more versatile player instead. That would make Ohio State center/guard Billy Price the perfect fit.
Price saw meaningful snaps at every spot of the interior of the offensive line in college. He won the Remington Trophy following his senior season, given to the best center in the nation. Pounceyβs deal was only two years, leaving the door open for a more permanent solution in the future. Price can slide into the other guard position for the time being and provide much needed depth to an offensive line that needs reinforcements.
