36. Scouting Report. Cornerback. Iowa. Josh Jackson. 18. player. Pick Analysis

The Seattle Seahawks made two major offseason transactions and both of them left sizable holes on their roster moving forward. They traded three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Bennett to the Philadelphia Eagles and cut four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman.

Their first round pick will have to replace one of those departed players. With Bradley Chubb, the premier pass rusher of this class off the board, the Seahawks will turn to the secondary. Iowa cornerback Joshua Jackson is the perfect replacement for Sherman and will fit in nicely as the newest member of the Legion of Boom.

Jackson, alongside defensive pillars Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor, will keep the Seahawks’ secondary among the league’s most intimidating units. Known as a lock-down corner in college, he has a good chance to see similar success in the NFL.

Jackson led the nation with eight interceptions in 2017. He returned two of those for touchdowns in the same game, producing Iowa’s only points against Wisconsin on the road. Jackson added three more of his interceptions in the Hawkeyes’ massive upset victory over Ohio State.
