Christian Kirk. 20. 50. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Wide Receiver. Texas A&M. player

The Detroit Lions could go in a variety of different directions with their first round pick. They have holes scattered all over their defense and it’s going to take more than one pick to fix that side of the ball. Rather than chip away, the Lions might be better off piecing together the most intimidating offensive attack they can.

Texas A&M receiver Christian Kirk would add an extra dimension to Detroit offense. His speed and elusiveness in the slot combined with Marvin Jones, Golden Tate and newly signed tight end Luke Wilson would give the Matthew Stafford plenty of options down the field. Kirk was a safety net for a variety of quarterbacks in College Station. Just like he did in school, he’ll pick up third downs across the middle, lulling the defense to sleep before breaking off a huge chunk play.

Kirk also brings elite special teams skills. In three seasons at Texas A&M he set the school record for punt return touchdowns (six), including two in the same game during his sophomore season. Pair Kirk’s versatility with a running back on Day 2 and the Lions could find themselves with one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL.
