NFL Mock Draft 2018: Complete 7-Round projections
Pro Football Focus ranked the Minnesota Vikings offensive line the 22nd best o-line in the NFL. That’s a euphemistic way to say there were only 10 units in the league worse than the Vikings – and Minnesota was one win away from going to the Super Bowl last season.
Their 26 different combinations were the third most in the NFL. They need talent and consistency and can’t afford to go in another direction at the beginning of the 2018 NFL Draft. Luckily for them this class has a fair amount of quality players at every position on the line and they’re going to have someone they like available at pick No. 30.
Notre Dame offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey will become the second Irish offensive lineman off the board, and a slam dunk selection for the Vikings. Mike Remmers has the right tackle position secure, but finding a true starting caliber left tackle has become a necessity after Riley Reiff struggled heavily last season.
A fixture on an offensive line that ran the football with great success at Notre Dame, McGlinchey will pave the way for Dalvin Cook out of the backfield as well as protect newly signed quarterback Kirk Cousins’ blindside.
