Clemson Football NFL Mock Draft 2018: Where will Tigers land?
Taylor Hearn isn’t the purebred showhorse that some of the other guard prospects might be. He is better at blocking the run than in pass protection, and that might hurt his chances in the pass-heavy pros.
Hearn needs to work a bit on fine-tuning, because he isn’t a leader and he doesn’t work his feet like he should.
The guard is a hidden gem, though, because the guy is huge. At 6-foot-4 and 325 pounds, Hearn is a brick wall that his defenders can use for massive combo blocks. He probably won’t be a starter for a year or two until he develops a consistent ability to work in space, but with some solid coaching, his power and strength at the point of attack should prove advantageous to a team like the Panthers, who need to develop their run protection.
