Pick Analysis. Defensive Tackle. Houston Cougars. Ed Oliver. 1. player. 53. Scouting Report

The Cleveland Browns had the first overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, and we’ll go with the same thing occurring the following year. With that selection, the Browns go with the common sense move and select the top player returning in the nation in 2018 with Houston Cougars defensive tackle Ed Oliver.

For the last two years, Oliver has dominated opposing offenses with his versatile ability to both stuff the run and rush the passer better than most defensive ends and outside linebackers out there.

Depending on who you ask, Oliver is also the top player on most draft boards for the upcoming NFL Draft. This 2019 defensive line class is so stacked that it’s hard to tell which lineman will fall where. Yet, if the Browns can get another top notch talent along the defensive line to go alongside former Texas A&M Aggies star Myles Garrett, they’ll be in a fantastic situation for the front seven.

And, with all the moves the Browns made to upgrade the offensive side of the ball, they shouldn’t need much help their next off-season. Oliver is the type of talent that can take Cleveland’s defense to the next level, so this is the perfect move.
