The defense for the Dallas Cowboys was actually pretty good in 2017. Yet, that might not last too long if they don’t upgrade the defensive line to compete with some improving NFC East rushing attacks. The 2019 NFL Draft is the perfect opportunity to upgrade.

With the Washington Redskins landing Derrius Guice and the New York Giants getting Saquon Barkley, the two best running bacs in the 2018 class ended up in the same division as the Cowboys. Specifically selecting someone who can plug some holes up the middle would be huge.

With a great draft haul in 2018, the Cowboys landed a linebacker that could be a staple for years to come in Leighton Vander Esch from the Boise State Broncos, and they got a solid pass rusher in Dorance Armstrong from the Kansas Jayhawks.

This trio for the Dallas front seven can be rounded out by getting a lineman like Alabama defensive tackle Raekwon Davis. He’s a big body that is both athletic and rangy. The Cowboys could instantly become one of the better defensive lines in the division with Davis on the roster.
