2. Vision

Of every returning back in college football, I don’t think there’s a single one with better vision than Singletary. Now, vision is an extremely general term, so what does it mean in the context of Singletary?

Well, it basically means that he’s aware of his size and body at all time, and has learned exactly where he can go on any given play to maximize yardage. He knows when to try to make a defender miss, and when to run right through someone.

He’s always aware of the safeties, and can absolutely gash defenses in open space because he identifies the path of least resistance extremely quickly. He’s able to think and see the field while he runs, and uses it to find soft spots in the defense.

This is also important for delayed runs, and runs up the middle, two of Kiffin’s favorite runs. Singletary is great at avoiding initial contact and getting enough speed that he can fall forward when he takes a hit. He slips through the line with ease, and very rarely takes losses on runs.
