6. Maria Taylor

Much like the WWE needs a female announcer on their teams, ESPN’s College GameDay could enter the modern world and have a female on their pre-game coverage. Sam Ponder would have been an amazing choice as she did great work on College Football Live and has the respect of players and coaches. However, Ponder took a job covering the NFL on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown. The new best option is Maria Taylor.

The 6-foot-2 Taylor is an accomplished athlete having played basketball and volleyball at Georgia for the Bulldogs from 2005-2009. In UGA’s volleyball record books- Taylor is fourth in career kills and fourth in career points. Taylor already has experience with College GameDay having replaced Sam Ponder and experience on the SEC Network as well. She’s a familiar face with coaching legend Mark Richt from her time at Georgia which is as good of a reference as any.

If ESPN wants to add a woman to the full-time line-up on stage every Saturday morning, Taylor is a great option for the position.
