Expected and surprise coaching moves happen every offseason. I’m predicting what college football’s 2019 coaching carousel will bring.

Every season there are expected coaching changes, such as David Beaty in 2019. Then again there are surprises as well such as Steve Spurrier retiring mid-season or Bronco Mendenhall leaving BYU for Virginia. Once the first piece moves it starts a butterfly effect. Much like in the sci-fi movie starring Ashton Kutcher, college football programs can go from being sketchy in one nightmare to a dean’s list student the next.

The obvious coaching changes in 2019 feel like they start and end in Kansas. With a new athletic director usually wanting their own coach and Beaty not compiling enough wins. Another likely move is Jeff Brohm. Brohm won’t be able to be held down to Purdue forever, and Matt Campbell’s star won’t be much brighter than his upset of Oklahoma in 2017.

With many obvious changes in the air, there is one big surprise that causes a Butterfly Effect of epic proportions at one of college football’s blueblood programs in the north. With that said, let’s take a look at the projected coaching carousel moves heading into the 2019 offseason.
