Undoubtedly one of the nation’s most exciting players, Nick Fitzgerald has defied all expectations and led a post-Dak Prescott renaissance in Starkville. Who would ever have thought that the Bulldogs would go 15-11 in the two seasons following Prescott’s departure?

Fitzgerald is a huge reason why. He’s not the world’s best passer, but he set the college football world ablaze with his running ability in 2016, accounting for over 3,700 total yards and 37 touchdowns by ground and by air. His numbers weren’t quite as sublime in 2017, and his season was sadly cut short with a nasty injury in the Egg Bowl against Ole Miss, but when healthy, he’s a must-watch player.

Reports out of Starkville say that Fitzgerald is still recovering, but should be 100 percent by the time fall practices roll around. Football fans across the nation should be thrilled. Perhaps the QB’s lone Achilles heel has been an inability to take down the titans of the SEC, and witnessing him give it one last go his senior year will be an absolute treat.
