UConn starts off the season with a home opener against the undefeated (and disputed National Champions) Central Florida. With the return of quarterback McKenzie Milton for UCF, and a young defense, it will likely be a blowout against the Huskies. Travelling to Boise won’t be much better for UConn. Boise is looking to contend for a perfect season and will be poised to hand the team a second loss on the year.

Calm Before the Storm

Coming back home to face Rhode Island should help the Huskies get a win under their belt. After having a few weeks to make adjustments and identify standouts, the team will be tuned up to win a home game. At a record of 1-2, Connecticut will hope to build some momentum before a tough four game stretch.

However, this momentum will likely die shortly after kickoff against the Syracuse Orange. The Huskies will struggle through their bye week, until facing UMass. With a record of 1-6, UConn will defend Pratt and Whitney stadium and get their second win of the year against UMass.

The Huskies will go on a three game win streak through SMU. A healthy SMU will be a tough opponent, however home field will help the team to victory.  The Huskies will finish the season with a loss at ECU and at home against Temple. The team will end the season with a 4-8 record, making a slight improvement from last year.

Projection: 4-8
