It just feels like a matter of time before Young becomes a star. In his first season on campus in 2017, the former five-star recruit racked up 18 tackles, five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in limited action. He was ranked as the seventh-best prospect in the nation in the class of 2017, and lived up to the hype with several moments of edge-rushing brilliance.

Now, he’ll be one of two players to get the majority of snaps across from star defensive end Nick Bosa. No matter if he begins the season as a first-stringer or not, he’s going to see a ton of playing time.

Together with Bosa and Jonathan Cooper, Young will undoubtedly play a key role in one of the most terrifying pass rushes in college football. Both he and Bosa are projected by many pundits to be first-round draft picks in the future. In 2018, Young will get his first extended chance at showing why.
