UCF had a ton of playmakers at receiver last year, including Tre’Quan Smith, whose tremendous season saw him declare early for the draft, and Dredrick Snelson, who returns to haunt opposing secondaries’ nightmares in 2018.

They may have secured their next big-time wideout with a late pledge from Texas. Ke’von Ahmad had Power Five offers from the likes of Louisville, Baylor, and Purdue and was ranked as a high-three star recruit, but as National Signing Day neared he was deciding between UCF and conference rival SMU.

Ahmad chose the Knights, instantly becoming their highest-rated recruit of the class, and Heupel must be thrilled. The young receiver has top-end speed, clocking in at 10.4 in the 100-meter dash, and he’ll add another deep threat to a team that’s already got plenty of offensive weapons to chose from.

The Knights’ offense could be another top-ten unit in 2018, and Ahmad could be one of the reasons why.
