Receivers

The Rutgers offense loses one of its most dynamic players in the slot with the graduation of Janarion Grant but returns senior Jerome Washington and sophomore Bo Melton.

The Rutgers passing attack hasn’t really seen a go-to target since Leonte Carroo, who was named the Rutgers Offensive MVP in 2015.

Washington was the top target in the passing game last season as he led the team with 28 receptions as the primary tight end. He also snagged one touchdown catch and collected 282 receiving yards.

Melton played in all 12 games last season as a true freshman and started three times at wideout while holding a team-high with an average of 20.8 yards per catch. He only had four catches for 83 yards last year.

However, he had a fine spring game in which he seemed to establish a strong rapport with Sitkowski. Melton caught three touchdown passes– all from the freshman quarterback.
