2. He loves the passionate fan base he’s acquired

Stepping into the leadership role of an SEC team that is coming off a four-win season, with a fan base that was ranked 93rd in a poll done by ESPN just prior to the 2017 season, makes Chad Morris excited. He likens the Razorbacks to a slumbering giant, there’s talent and he is ready to nurture it and make them as the Hogs were in the glory days.

He is not unaware of the unbelief and the lack of optimism coming from the state of Arkansas, he thrives on the being the guy to turn it around. There was a time early in his career, as a high school coach, that after a few hard losses his front lawn became decorated with ‘for sale’ signs. He didn’t give up then, and he is not going to give up now.

For the most part, Razorback fans are still stinging from the 2017 season and would love to see Morris make football at the University of Arkansas fun again. Dynamic plays. Up tempo offense. Be fast. Play fast. Be where your feet are.

Can Morris make hog fans excited about football again? He seems to have the blueprint, but until kickoff against Eastern Illinois on Sept. 1, there will just be wishful thinking.
