The winningest team in the history of college football should also have pretty traditional uniforms, right? Indeed, that is true.

Michigan enters the field and jumps to hit the banner while wearing the striking maize and blue colors. From a visual standpoint, the darker navy blue color serves as a supplement to the brighter maize color and each of those colors is spread evenly throughout the entire uniform from head to toe.

Recently, Michigan has come up with some alternate uniforms like a few different throwbacks and the all-maize jersey and pants it wore last year, but nothing beats the home navy blue and maize pants combination that still tops the charts as the best Wolverine’s uniforms.

The strongest traditional detail to Michigan’s uniforms is the iconic wingtip helmet design. First used in 1938, the helmet logo has become a staple of Michigan football and remains to be a popular helmet decal for teams across all levels of football.

When someone thinks of navy and yellow, it is almost automatic they will think of Michigan and its tradition of playing college football. But more importantly, the wingtip helmet decal is a signature of Michigan football.
