It wouldn’t be surprising for many fans to have never heard of AJ Dillon, but that may change by the time the 2018 season is complete.

Dillon set a Boston College freshman rushing record with 1,589 yards, toting the ball for 5.3 yards per carry. Considering the where he plays and some of the defenses the Eagles faced, those are some pretty impressive numbers.

The Eagles 6-0, 240-pound running back is a true throwback, running with reckless abandon and punishing any defender who makes the mistake of standing in his way. There isn’t a lot of fancy footwork when Dillon carries the ball, just a trail of bodies strewn in his wake.

Unfortunately, playing for Boston College means the 2017 ACC Rookie of the Year will have to put up more than just really impressive numbers. He’ll have to create more than one Heisman moment to stick in the minds of voters (unless the Eagles can suddenly make a run at Clemson this season).
