6. Oregon Ducks (2014)

The Oregon Ducks have had a lot of wacky uniform combinations as the creators of the alternative uniform generation. Phil Knight of Nike helped usher in this new era of team cloth and the Ducks variations helped sell more jerseys as collectors want to have one of each, but also brought the spotlight to Eugene, Ore.

When the Ducks decided to pay homage to the 1990s and wear their throwbacks to a simpler time, it wasn’t without visual assault.

The Oregon uniforms of the 1990s are very green and unbearably yellow. For all of the sharp style of their modern looks today, their helmet was very dull while being bright yellow which seems impossible. “Puddles” the Duck (sometimes just called the duck) was on the sleeve in the middle of a very thick triple stripe. The pants were plain yellow and again while being simple somehow blind the viewer.

Marcus Mariota made good of the 1990s throwbacks by beating the Washington Huskies 45-20 throwing two touchdowns on 10.2 yards per attempt while Royce Freeman ran in four touchdowns of his own. If you’re going to go with some ugly uniforms, you have to seal the deal with a victory.
