College Football: Ranking the 7 worst uniforms of all time
4. Maryland Terrapins (2011)
The Maryland Terrapins are located in the heart of UnderArmor country (read: Baltimore area) and the owner of the brand was a special teams captain for the Maryland football program. That being said, he committed treason against the Terps with these ridiculous Any Given Sunday inspired uniforms back in 2011 against the Miami Hurricanes. The Terps beat the ‘Canes 32-24 and the feeling had to be to keep rolling them out.
But some looks need to go away like Z Cavaricci pants (those are the bagging pleated things A.C. Slater wore on Saved by the Bell) and the ‘brolights’ (ex. men with highlights in their hair).
The different patterned shoulders were a strange look in the first place, the turf sleeve actually looked cool, but the helmets are a terrible choice and Maryland has been wearing weird combinations ever since. They’re the really bad east coast Oregon Ducks because they win even less and their styles aren’t as popular or cool.
Maryland should stick to the turtle and the script Terps with triple stripe helmet even if they’re going with these alternative chess piece jerseys.
