1. Michigan Wolverines (2017)

The University of Michigan is college football institution. It began wearing the winged helmet with maize and blue back in 1938 when former Princeton head coach Herbert Crisler became the Wolverines’ head football coach and athletic director. Crisler brought the winged helmet from Princeton and the Tigers and Wolverines still wear the design today.

Michigan’s look is the Rose Bowl pageantry of college football. However, an all-maize uniform was rolled out and it was atrocious.

Like a faded school bus the all maize design was brought out for the second time in school history in “Jerry’s World” — aka Arlington, Texas — for the 2017 season opener against the Florida Gators. The Wolverines emerged victorious but Jim Harbaugh, a guy that likes traditional Walmart khakis and a blue long-sleeved t-shirt, should stick to the classics in the uniform department as well.

The other time Michigan went all maize? It was against Navy back in 1928. Some things should remain in the past and this look is one of them. Hopefully in 2018 Michigan bounces back to compete for the Big Ten Championship and they keep the all-maize look in 2017.
