A Horned Frog is a very unique mascot to have considering no other team in the country shares the nickname, and TCU utilizes its amphibious mascot well in its uniform design.
In the Big 12 Championship Game last year, TCU used all three of its team colors effectively in its uniform with a black helmet and pants to contrast a white away jersey.
While the jersey and pants are standard issues, what makes this uniform stand out is the black chrome helmet and the purple chrome Horned Frog helmet decal.
The black body on the helmet makes it a little hard to see the purple outline of the purposely large helmet decal, but upon closer inspection, the Horned Frog is fierce-looking. That is definitely an image a team wants to sport when battling through the rough nature of a football game.
TCU has several jersey and helmet variations worn over the years, but it hit the bullseye with the purple chrome helmets. The nice part about the helmet is that it could really go well with any uniform color combination, and in the case of the away jersey, it worked particularly well.
The Horned Frogs have been on the rise as contenders in the BIg 12 and they can also be counted on to have a wow factor in the uniform department.
