AAC Football: Ranking the best uniforms in the conference

It doesn’t get much better than SMU’s uniforms. They’ve got a handful of different looks – some with red as the primary color, some with blue – and pretty much every single one of the America-poaching getups looks fantastic.

It all starts with the classic Mustang logo, which calls to mind the SMU teams of the 1980s (generally, the SMU teams of the ’80s are associated with unhappy memories, but hey – if you’re going to get program-crippling NCAA violations, you may as well look good while doing it). The Mustangs have tweaked the logo a bit since, like adding the Dallas skyline in the uniforms pictured above, but by and large they’ve kept their age-old look untouched.

That’s the key here: simplicity. No one really knows what to expect from SMU under new coach Sonny Dykes, but it’s safe to say they will be one of the sharpest teams in the AAC, if nothing else.
