After losing Josh Jackson to the NFL Draft, Iowa does still have a lot of talent at defensive back, however the depth is a little more shallow than it has been the last couple of years. That’s where St. Louis-area prospect Dallas Craddieth potentially enters the seen. Craddieth comes in as one of the highest-rated recruits in Iowa’s 2018 class and is physical specimen to behold as a defensive back.

To use a couple of comparisons, Craddieth has the hitting ability of former Iowa safety Jordan Lomax and the ball skills of another former Iowa defensive back and current Buffalo Bills safety, Micah Hyde. Craddieth absolutely throws his body wherever is necessary and most of the time resulted him in delivering a crushing hit on opposing ballcarriers.

As a playmaker, he has a knack for just going up and getting the ball, showcased by some of his offensive highlights in the highlight tape above. He is a versatile player who could end up playing as both a cornerback and a safety. Craddieth will bring a swagger to the Iowa secondary that hasn’t been seen since Lomax’s departure after 2015.
