The Blazers weren’t just strong on defense, they also posted the S&P’s 67th ranked special teams which will help them win close games in 2018. They’ll have some close games against teams like Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, UTSA and Middle Tennessee over the course of the 2018 season.

UAB fans need to be excited about what the 2018 season has in store for the Blazers. Even without the playmaking linebackers and a lockdown cornerback, UAB should be in a good position to make a run at the Conference USA title. UAB’s pre-season ranking is 91st per the S&P+. Clark’s team should start off with wins against Savannah State, Coastal Carolina and Tulane before an early bye week.

Charlotte is one of the worst programs in FBS and a good tune-up before Louisiana Tech. After dropping their first game to La Tech, the Blazers will bounce back against Rice and have a tough home contest against North Texas.

UAB then travels to lowly UTEP, before hosting a tough out in UTSA. Southern Miss is rebuilding and will be a great game on November 10th. The Blazers then travel to College Station to take on Jimbo Fisher’s Aggies before another road game against Middle Tennessee to end the season.
