Michigan State football: Spartans land big time 4-star DE Michael Fletcher
Michigan State football recruiting is white-hot, Spartans land ‘Plan A’ defensive end Michael Fletcher from Flint on Friday evening.
Michigan State football recruiting continues it’s extremely hot recruiting week. On Monday the Spartans received a commitment from five-star offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs. Three-star wide receiver Alante Brown committed on Thursday. Earlier today three-star wide receiver Tre Mosley announced his commitment to the Spartans, and now the Michigan State football coaches have landed three star defensive end Michael Fletcher.
Fletcher is a 6-foot-6, 250-pound defensive end from Carmen-Ainsworth HighSchool in Flint, Mich. Michigan State has dominated the instate recruiting for the 2019 class, one that is one of the best in recent memory.
Fletcher had over twenty offers and chose Michigan State over teams like Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Nebraska. He grew up a Michigan State fan, and loves the fast, aggressive defense the Spartans are known for. His relationship with head coach Mark Dantonio and defensive line coach Ron Burton were a major reason for him choosing the Spartans. Fletcher and his whole family know they can trust the coaches to develop him on and off the field.
Fletcher is an athletic freak coming off the edge, he uses his quick burst off the line to blow past the offensive lineman. He is a very fast player for his size and does a good job running the hoop. Fletcher has a great motor and doesn’t give up on the play. In his tape you see him running down plays downfield showcasing his motor and top end speed. He is also a very good basketball player, who shows off his athleticism on the hardwood.
Next: Mark Dantonio's all-time offense
Michigan State football has fourteen commits for the quickly growing recruiting class with more coming shortly. Fletcher is the second defensive end in the class, joining the very athletic 6-foot-7 250-pound Adam Berghorst.
