You’d be hard-pressed to find a more consistently excellent player over the last three years of college football than Myles Gaskin.

The senior shocked many pundits by choosing to bypass the NFL and return to Washington for his final year of college eligibility. The fact that he’s still in the Huskies’ backfield is a huge reason why UW is being tabbed as a contender for the College Football Playoff in 2018.

Gaskin has been a pivotal figure in the Huskies’ renaissance under Chris Petersen, as he’s run for at least 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns for three straight seasons. 2017 was his best year yet, as he contributed 1,380 yards rushing on 6.2 yards per carry and 21 touchdowns – all career highs. He also caught 19 passes for 232 yards and three more scores.

If Gaskin puts up similar numbers this year, the accolades will be unending. He’ll easily become Washington’s all-time leading rusher. He’ll be toward the top of the leaderboard in Pac-12 history in many rushing categories. And he may just garner some serious Heisman buzz if the Huskies can live up to their preseason billing.
